My Favourite Four Autumn/Winter Lipsticks.

30/11/2016

I'm always excited for that time of the year, when the weather completely changes because it means I can wear my favourite bold lipsticks ALL the time and no-one can stop me. My top four favourites are all below!

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid - 40 Berry Burst
Think of your favourite Matte Liquid Lipstick... is it drying? Opaque? Just a bit dull? Well it can't be one of the Maybelline Vivid Mattes then. I love all of the Vivid Mattes, especially because of their pigmentation. You can easily build up the colour and create a bolder look. Berry Burst, once on your lips, doesn't smudge or transfer onto a drink or piece of food. For such an affordable price, I love the Maybelline Vivid Mattes and have definitely put them at the top of my list of beauty products I've been loving.

Charlotte Tilbury - Glastonbury
The Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Glastonbury has to be the most raved about product by bloggers. At this time of the year, everyone is seemingly talking about or wearing this lipstick. I originally heard about it on twitter with everyone going crazy about how gorgeous it was, this being the time where I thought wearing a nude pink was a bold move. I ordered the lipstick a few months ago now because I have become so much more adventurous and I am so glad I did. This is the perfect purple colour that goes with everything. Out of all the lipsticks it is definitely the most long-lasting but you do need a few coats to get the bold lip I always go for. The packaging deserves an award for how gorgeous it is. The gold with a rose gold tinge is beautiful and stands out in my makeup draws because it isn't black.

Maybelline COLORSENSATIONAL - 435 Perfect Plum
Maybelline lipsticks have to be one of my favourites because of their gorgeous colours and the pigmentation, especially for a drugstore brand. I have featured this lipstick in quite a few blog posts previously and obviously had to bring it up again because I love it so much! The deep red colour is slightly different to all the others that are purple and pink which is why I love it so much. Like the other Maybelline lip product featured in this review the pigmentation is very high yet still has a build-able colour. It also has such a cute name so I can't argue!

Mac Satin Finish - Rebel
I am and always have been a lover of mac lipsticks, always popping in to create a rainbow on the back of my hand from swatches. The lipstick itself is a deep pink however looks more purple on some people than others. The lipstick being a satin finish leaves it feeling very moisturising on the lips which you need in winter with the temperatures plummeting. Like the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick you need a few coats before it is a bold lip but after that it is gorgeous. It isn't very long-lasting which I was rather disappointed in because many of my other Mac lipsticks can last a lot longer but maybe  I only notice it because the lipstick is a darker shade!

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post where I showed you my favourite autumn/winter lipsticks. I included two drugstore and two high-street lipsticks so that they were affordable to everyone.

Guest Post: Top Tips for Winter Skin Care!

28/01/2016
winterskin.jpg

Icy temperatures, whipping winds, and tropical heating, can wreak havoc on your skin during winter months. Take a look at these five skin care tips to avoid dryness and redness, and get the skin as smooth and as soft as ever. They should do the trick until the temperatures begin to rise again.

1. Keep showers short.

There is nothing like a long hot shower on a cold morning, or after you have spent time outside in the cold. As tempting as it may be, you should do your best to keep those showers at 10 minutes or less, limit them to once a day, and keep the water mid to lukewarm. Warmth affects the outmost layer of your skin, the epidermis, which serves two purposes. It protects you from the environment AND it helps your skin retain moisture. In order to retain moisture, the epidermis produces oil, which creates a protective barrier on the skin. This oil barrier is melted and washed away with hot water. Moisture evaporates from the skin more easily and it soon leads to dryness and itchiness.

2. Wear SPF.

You are used to summer warnings about wearing sunscreen with a high SPF, but these warning also apply to winter. Even on a cloudy and rainy day, UV rays penetrate the clouds and can affect your skin. So you need to be protected all year round. The damage caused by overexposure to sun ranges from discoloration and dryness of the skin, to wrinkles and skin cancer. Did you know that over 80% of visible aging signs are due to the so called photo aging? By wearing sunscreen whenever you leave the house, regardless of the weather, you will prevent premature aging.

3. Use organic skin care products.

Winter weather conditions are harsh enough on your skin, so why would you want to make things even worse? Once the temperatures drop, switch to milder skin care products. Although it may not seem like it, cold winter air is extremely dry. That is why moisturization is particularly important. You should moisturize more often and to avoid irritating your skin with aggressive products, use organic face moisturisers. They are made of completely natural ingredients that cause no allergies or other irritation to your skin.

4. Eat your way to glowing skin

What you eat reflects on your complexion. The key vitamins and minerals that will get you a radiant complexion are vitamin A, which can be found in sweet potato, carrot, egg yolk, and fish oil. It promotes the formation of new cells and preserves the youthful look. Second on the list is vitamin B, abundant in soy and whole grain products, which keeps the skin smooth and supple. Thanks to vitamin C, eating citrus fruits, cauliflower, tomatoes, and strawberries, your skin will remain elastic. Zinc is vital for healing of scars and wounds. Get it from sunflower seeds, seafood, red meat, cheese, and mushrooms. Blueberries, raspberries, goji berries, and acai berries, are strong anti-oxidant foods, just like green tea and raw cacao.

5. Drink plenty of water

To sum up the first four tips, the key to glowing complexion during winter is rehydration. Dehydrated skin looks dull and scaly. This can be avoided by drinking plenty of water. If you cannot drink two litres of plain water a day, flavour it with freshly squeezed citrus fruits. Or make yourself a cup of green tea. Just do not replace water with eight cups of winter’s favourite beverages – hot chocolate and mulled wine.

4th: Winter/Christmas GRWM! *Blogmas 2015*

04/12/2015
Helloo lovelies!

So about a week ago now I posted a video onto a small place called You Tube.

For ages now I have wanted to work up the courage and do this, I've never had enough confidence.. worried about how people around me are going to act. I then told myself to stop being silly and think that I can get out of my current school in less than 6 months. I then stepped out of my comfort zone and recorded an outfit and makeup get ready with me.

Without further or do I present to you... my first ever video:

I apologise for the poor quality and minimal editing it was my first attempt and I'm sure I can get better if I continue.

Let me know what you thought of the video below also if you'd like me to make any others?!

Blogmas day 16: My cold walk to school!

16/12/2014
HELLO EVERYONE!

9 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS YAYAYAYAYAY!!!

I thought that I would share with you something that I do everyday and is 1.8 miles long! This is my journey to school. Now that it is winter time my journey just looks ever so lovely when it is a crispy morning so I thought why not share with you!

So I leave my house at 7:45 and arrive at school at about 8:10/8:15 which is a good time in the winter because you don't have to stand around in the cold!

This morning it was quite foggy and still a bit dark as I went on my journey to school. I normally listen to my playlist on spotify until I meet my friend  at the end of the bridge!

It was still quite dark this morning so the moon was still up and I thought that it looked adorable!

As I then walked along the main road, it started to brighten up with a bit of a pink sky!

'Red sky in the morning... Shepherds warning!!'

I know tht this post was a little weird but hey.. I'm weird so we match (:

Blogmas day 3: The perfect Hot Chocolate!

03/12/2014
HELLLOOO EVERYONE

So it is officially 22 days until Christmas! YES!

So today I thought why not do a post on something that is quite wintery and lovely to have at this time of the year and that is hot chocolate!(:

I have many favourite hot chocolates however my current favourite one is the 'Options, Belgian Chocolate Hot Chocolate!' Now that's a bit of a mouthful to say out loud as you type! This brand also does white chocolate and mint chocolate!

So I get my favourite mug out of the cupboard and add 3 teaspoons of powder into the cup! Then I boil the kettle while heating up a jug of milk in the microwave. Then I add half a cup of water in, and mix this until it's a runny paste, a bit like gravy!?! And then I add in enough milk to fill it to the top! This makes it creamy but still doesn't make the flavour very strong because the water weakens it slightly. However this is fine because the next step adds all that missing creamyness back in!

Then comes the fun bit, if you like cream then add a funky design or pattern upon the top and then sprinkle with marshmallows, I just did the marshmallows because I forgot to ask my mum to get cream, but I still used quite a few mini ones!

Then sit down get cosy and watch your favourite film! My favourite Christmas/wintery fil would be Elf or Home Alone! They are both amazing and I reccommened them both!

I hope you have liked this post, even though it was a bit short and sweet I thought that it's nice to be nosy at what other people do!

Leave a comment if there is anything you'd like to see me do in Blogmas, or in general a post idea you have for the future!
