#SEVENTEENBLOGGERNETWORK Event!

19/08/2016

Yesterday I headed up to London with one of my good friends Poppy from the youtube channel PoppyLinehanx to attend the #SEVENTEENBLOGGERNETWORK event.

During the course of the event we where able to listen to guest speaks such as Kate Snooks (YES I WAS FREAKING OUT INSIDE AND WE GOT A PICTURE !!), Rollo Goldstaub who works at Google/Youtube and celebrity make-up artist Vanessa Guallar. I may be partial to say so but I loved all of the tips Kate shared about her beauty blog and I am hoping to put them to use over here on my site!

I was ever so grateful and felt so fortunate to be invited to such an incredible event where I genuinely came away feeling like I had learnt something really useful! All the products featured in this post were gifted in a goody bag which I wasn’t expecting at all and there will be a more in-depth review of them to come!

I also 'vlogged' the day to try it out and it may have turned out miserably but hey, you have to start somewhere...

My little blog is two years old!

03/03/2016

Two years ago today I was sat in my bed, unable to sleep. It was around 1am and I had school the next day, being only 14. I had tried to read and get myself to fall asleep but that wasn't working and then I started catching up on my favourite blogs. I'd must of read at least 15 before I thought that maybe I should start a blog... And so I did.

It was 1am and I decided right now is the time to do it. I started to look things up on my iPad trying to find the best website when I stumbled upon blogger. It was so simple to create and set up my blog. I fell in love with the designing aspect until it came to the name. I was really stuck on what to make it. I went through all the nicknames people called me until I came across abster hamster... Which you can learn about in a post called 'you know my name, not my story'

My first ever blog post was 25 facts about me, written with such poor grammar that it makes me chuckle. After writing my first post I got a buzz and wrote another two to save in my drafts. My photos were taken on my iPhone and I didn't really know what I was doing. I was doing my blog for a laugh and to have fun. It has also helped my English at school because I have a tendency to ramble on about utter rubbish, which I've managed to try and sort of.. Not really control on my blog!

When I first started my blog I never looked at page views or shared it really on social media, so any views I got were from the World Wide Web. I never told my friends as I wanted to keep it to myself as a place to vent and share how I felt. But things change and I later told a few. Only the end of last year begging of this year have I started to tell family and that's because I never thought they'd be interested. They'd tell me to stop wasting my time and concentrate on school work. Yes I should be doing that but my blog is helping with my English homework okay ;). Since then my page views have been increasing so I began increasing the amount of posts I put up a week.

I know I say it a lot but it's true....
I'm so thankful for all the opportunities I've been given over the past two years and to all the incredible people I have spoken to, all thanks to my little space on the internet.
Everything that has happened over this time, I never would have dreamed could happen when I started abigailjessicax back in March 2014. I mean it from the bottom of my hart. Thank you to every single person for making my blogging journey so incredible, thank you for the continued support whether it be on here, social media or in person. I hope I can continue creating content that you enjoy reading!
Thank you so so so so so much!!

D.I.Y 2015 Pin board!

12/01/2016

Hello lovelies!

I hope you have been enjoying 2016 so far! Today’s post is going to be on something I haven't done in a while and that is a D.I.Y post! My first ever D.I.Y post I showed you how to customise your house key and it was ever so simple. Well todays post is as simple as that. So long as you have what you need then it is simple! I'm going to show you a way to personalise your bedroom with memories of 2015! I always see these ideas floating around so I wanted to create my own!

I simply went online and ordered a pin board, drawing pins (rainbow coloured of course), photos and a quote! They are all linked if you click on the name but if not wait till the end.

I started by spreading out my photos and quote in the areas that I thought they looked best. I used pictures that looked like Polaroids and I ordered them off an app on my iPhone called LALALAB. It was simple to use and you just uploaded the photos from your camera roll. I paid 22p per photo which could have writing added so I thought that was really good! If you didn't want to use Polaroid styled photos then you can use normal 6x4!

Then I obviously added in the pins and neatened up the pictures.

And I had created a cute pin board of my memories of 2015. I'm going to hang this on my wall above my dressing table so I always see it and then add some fairy lights over the top because it makes my room feel all cosy!

You can also add any other memoirs you may have of 2015. I might add tickets from concerts or important notices!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and leave a comment below if you try creating your own pin board or tweet me @_abigailjessica!

Whole Primark Outfit For Under £25!

05/01/2016

Hello Lovelies!

I ventured out of my bed a few days ago to go and explore the after Christmas sales. I couldn’t find anything I liked in Topshop or River Island so I thought I would have a look in Primark. I always pick up the basics in Primark like vest tops and pyjamas. But I found some bargains!

My dress wasn’t in the sale but it was only £10! I thought this was a bargain so I picked it up. The colour is a dark grey which has been washed out with white and lighter grey bits. When I’ve bought dresses from Primark before they always are a bit see-through but this dress wasn’t at all. The style of the dress is a polo neck swing dress.
I also picked up some shoes. I was looking for some fake Chelsea boots if you like because I didn’t want to splash out on some and then not like them! However I found these first and fell in love! They were supposed to be £18 but were £12 in the sale. The bottom of the boot is rigid and they have a slight chunky heel. The laces it comes with are black and white vertical stripes. This matches my dress perfectly! The only thing I will say is they came up rather large so instead of a 6 I bought a 5!
The socks I’m wearing are the cutest things I have ever seen. THEY HAVE EARS OKAY. My mum picked these out for me at Christmas. It came in a pack of three with some normal trainer socks with owls on them. I believe they would have cost £2.50 because that’s the average price in Primark but I’m not too sure as they were a gift.
Obviously I can’t link the products because you have to go in-store to Primark!
I hope you have enjoyed this outfit post! IF you want to know what make-up I’m wearing then feel free to comment below and let me know and I will do so!
Also thank you so much to Lauren for taking the photos on my Canon 1200D with the 50-300mm lens!

Goodbye 2015...Hello 2016!

02/01/2016
Hello Lovelies,

(Before I started my post I just wanted to wish everybody a Happy New Year and good luck for 2016!)

Well.. I don’t really know how to start this post. I was going to talk about the achievements and incredible opportunities I’ve had in 2015 and then I remembered I did a blogpost about it during Blogmas. So I you want to read that then you can do so here! Anyway todays blog post is something I wrote when I was tired and probably should have slept because it was 3am but I wanted to write while everything was on my mind and felt fresh if you know what I mean!? Anyway… enjoy!

Sometimes you want to put your head in a pillow and scream and cry. Sometimes you type out a whole text but don't send it because you hate having arguments. Sometimes you wish you could speak the truth without everything around you coming crashing down.

I'm sat here after a New Year's Eve party still in my coat and dress thinking to myself about what 2016 holds for me (basically I’m panicking because I’m going to be so screwed). I will do my GCSEs. I will go to sixth form. Plus… I turn 16 in a few days.

Everything kind of came crashing down around me and I realised the truth. This year basically dictates the rest of my life. Everyone says ‘New Year New Me’. It's that cringed thing you put on your Facebook page or something. But I've decided that will happen. I know that if I write down my New Year’s resolutions in one place where anyone can view it then I can't go back.

So here goes...

1. I'm not giving people second chances, if you blow it, you've blown it.
2. I will try my hardest in my exams and push myself to hopefully exceed the target grades my school and I have set.
3. I’m not letting people dictate my life. It's my life not yours.
4. I need to stop trying to change who I am to fit in. Everybody is different in their own special way.

I know to you these might seem silly but I really want to do this. To me they are things I need to remember and tell myself every day.

If you have any resolutions leave them in the comments I’d love to read them! Happy new year once again!

p.s This is my step any closer and I'll kill you face :)

4th: Winter/Christmas GRWM! *Blogmas 2015*

04/12/2015
Helloo lovelies!

So about a week ago now I posted a video onto a small place called You Tube.

For ages now I have wanted to work up the courage and do this, I've never had enough confidence.. worried about how people around me are going to act. I then told myself to stop being silly and think that I can get out of my current school in less than 6 months. I then stepped out of my comfort zone and recorded an outfit and makeup get ready with me.

Without further or do I present to you... my first ever video:

I apologise for the poor quality and minimal editing it was my first attempt and I'm sure I can get better if I continue.

Let me know what you thought of the video below also if you'd like me to make any others?!

House Of Twtits App!*

26/11/2015

Hellooo lovelies!

As many of you know (if you follow me on twitter) I am currently doing my mocks of the mocks at school. So this means a lot of revision. One key thing to do when revising is to take regular breaks... for me that is every 2 minutes but everyone else it’s probably every 2 hours. I am always tempted to play on my phone when I have a spare minute and so I thought I would share with you an app that I think is so fun to play!
The app is called House of Twits and it is inspired by Roald Dahls book The Twits. You start of by being Mrs Twit until you get to level nine then you can have Mr Twit. You basically spend your time tormenting the characters pulling out their eyeballs dangling from the ceiling, knocking their walking stick out of their hands.
I find the game so amusing it constantly makes me laugh! My favourite thing is dangling Mrs Twit from the ceiling because the way she sqeals just cracks me up!

You can watch the trailer of the app below:

If you like the look of the game then you can download it by clicking here!

The app costs £2.99 but is totally worth it!

What is your favourite app to play on your phone?

Little Stars by Jaqueline Wilson Review*

19/11/2015

Hellooo lovelies!

As many of you know I love to read, it is a commonly occurring theme in my blog posts to see a book review pop up! Today I am reviewing the book Little Stars by Jaqueline Wilson. The other night I had a power cut for a good couple of hours, so with no Wi-Fi as a distraction I lighted up my Christmas candles and started to read!

The book Little Stars fits into the Hetty Feather collection. In the series at the beginning you learn about Hetty Feather who she is and the struggles she has had to go with. You follow her on an adventure through tears and laughter until she ends up at the circus. Hetty then meets Diamond, a beautiful young girl with blonde curly hair. They become not only the best of friends but also like sisters.

Anyway in the book Little Stars Hetty and Diamond have had enough of Tanglefields travelling circus, but both have nowhere to go. So they embark on an adventure, escaping the circus. They travelled by a penny farthing, diamond standing on Hetty’s shoulders. On their journey they stop in a little town to stay overnight. Camped out in the doorway of a shop Hetty and Diamond sleep, but with one eye open in case anybody came near them. Woken up by the early bustle of the market, they begin to panic as a man starts to approach them. Hetty is quickly up, scared that he will take Diamond, however he is like a long lost uncle to them and takes them for breakfast. After a hearty breakfast they set off once again on their journey.

Arriving at the Cavalcade hall (Their final destination) Hetty finds a poster outside… with Bertie’s name on it. If you don’t know who Bertie is he is from a previous book and was Hetty’s sweetheart. Hetty and Diamond quickly become the Little Stars of Mrs Ruby's show, alongside many creative and different acts – including, of course Bertie… Hetty’s Bertie.

However the Cavalcade proves a dangerous place and Hetty must fight to protect Diamond, who longs for a normal childhood which she has never had. Of course Hetty has some trouble in the department of love and can’t decide whether she has feelings for Bertie or Jem. (Jem is from a previous book and was Hetty’s first ever love.)The one thing Hetty is trying to concentrate on is making Diamond and herself, be the best Little Stars.

Will Hetty and Diamond become the next big stars of the Cavalcade... or maybe the stars of somewhere extravagant? To find out I guess you’ll have to read the book! You can purchase the book here!

Jaqueline Wilson is an outstanding author. As a young girl I used to constantly have one of her books glued to my side. One Christmas I remember receiving a writing kit made by Jaqueline filled with tips on how to be an author myself. Let’s just say it got to about ten chapters in and the most exciting thing was the main character had broken her pencil. I guess I’m not destined to write amazing books!

Who is your current favourite author? What books have you loved recently?
