Beauty Bay Haul!

21/05/2016

Makeup is my one true love… okay I lied… I also love my cat dearly. The other day I was watching multiple of Hannah Renee’s videos on YouTube and to sum it up I am obsessed with them (Post coming in the near future!). After watching around 15 of her videos my Beauty Bay basket had become pretty full. I narrowed it down to 4 items and I had to have them all. Obviously I thought why not share with you guys what I thought of the products!

The first thing I added to my basket was two makeup geek eyeshadows. I picked up the shades Bitten and Cocoa Bear. Both shades felt really creamy to the touch but then had quite a bit of fall out when trying to get some on the brush. Bitten has incredible pigmentation and you can really build up the colour. The same goes for Cocoa Bear but I felt that Cocoa Bear blended out a lot nicer than Bitten did. It might have just been the shadow I blended them with or the brush but that’s what I found! I am defiantly ordering more of the makeup geek shadows; they also do such a wide range of gorgeous shades!

I also picked up the Zoeva 221/Luxe Soft Crease brush. Everywhere online that I read about this brush everyone says how great it is at blending out, I will second that! The brush really helps to distribute the colour and really blend it out. However I did find the bristles to be quite rough and feel slightly scratchy.

Finally I decided to get a Morphe shadow. I choose a gorgeous pink shade as I thought it would be a great subtle transition shade for a pink smokey eye. You do need quite a lot on your brush to actually get your shadow onto the eye but it had no fallout so I was really impressed! Morphe eyeshadows as singles are really cheap fir the great job they do being under £2!

Obviously the shades are in single pans so I thought I’d let you know that I store them in a Large Z palette which is also from Beauty Bay!
Beauty bay itself is a great website to buy makeup from different brands that you may not find in shops over here in the UK. I spent over £15 so I received free two day delivery. My products all arrived fine and had no damage! Defiantly using beauty bay again and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy makeup that is hard to get over here.

Head Over Heels by Holly Smale-Review*

19/05/2016

Ever since I began reading Holly Smale books, I fell in love with the way she wrote. Her writing makes you feel so warm inside and the characters become so alive you fell like they are your best friends.

Through out reading Head Over Heels, I found so much of it relatable that I began to wonder if it was a story of my life because it covers so many different aspects like: struggling to fit in, friendship issues and finding out who you really are.

Harriet the main character who is all of us inside, is an attentive, hilarious and trustworthy friend who struggles with what could only be known as signs of anxiety all because she feels like she doesn't meet the expectations over what is stereotypically society's 'teenage girl'. I feel like this is why people relate to her so much.

If you haven't read the series I recommend you do start from the start as it makes much more sense that way! The book follows Harriet in yet another adventure as she embarks onto sixth form... Obviously it wouldn't be a book about Harriet without including her modelling ambitions. Harriet's agent Wilbur has decided to set up his own business but has very minimalistic funds to do so. Harriet realises this and throws herself into the deep end of the modelling career and lands herself a vogue contract for not only herself but also her sister.

I love reading along to the adventures that Harriet embarks on because they are something as a 'normal' person you wouldn't expect to happen, but to Harriet they do happen. I would definitely recommend Head Over Heels to anyone who simply wants a book that keeps you wondering what could ever happen next or if you want a good laugh. On a scale out of five I would have to give Head Over Heels a definite 5/5 because of the messages it portrays (subtle feminism is fabulous in a book I must say) and just how Holly Smale writes.

Also... How gorgeous does the book look without the sleeve on it!

Get the Festival Vibe!*

25/04/2016

Recently when I have been scrolling through my Instagram, it is beginning to be filled with more and more festival pictures every day. Still being in school I was extremely jealous and was wishing I was at a music festival instead of preparing for my GCSEs. Then I thought why not bring the festival to me?!

A company called Pure Tatts got in contact with me and after seeing the tattoos it made me long to be there ten times more. So of course being the strange human being that I am, I covered myself in them. Secretly I used the excuse that I was testing them to see how long they lasted and to share on here but really it was because I wanted to seem all cool and hip.

Pure Tatts was started by two men called Jason and Malte who noticed a gap in the market for white transfer tattoos. The only choices out there before were gold and silver, and then these boys came along. Not only do they make beautiful tattoos but 10% of their net profits go to a chosen charity each month, which if you ask me is extremely generous.

Pure Tatts sell many different designs all of which are different. I received two of their packs. One named Dreamer (RRP. $10 containing one sheet) and the other Mantra (RRP. $15 containing two sheets). Mantra out of the two packs had to be my favourite because I loved the feather design. However my favourite was actually in both packs and that is because it is the symbol of the brand which is a heart with what looks like countries in at a glance but then closer up you notice it is intricate designs.

I applied 3 tattoos on Thursday to test out the durability because the packet claims they last 4-6 days. The simple arrow design I applied to my left wrist, which I wear a watch on every day. Because I had something over it I thought it would last a lot longer but the strap rubbed it off by Sunday. This was the same for my right wrist where I had the feather design because over the top I had on bracelets and tight hair bands. However on my ankle I placed the heart with the design inside and have had socks and tights on over it or leaving it bare and not a single bit has smudged. That means it has lasted 5 days already including Thursday afternoon.

The tattoos once applied look so nice on my skin because I am still partially tanned from the summer so they show up really well but I’d imagine if you are a lot paler they may not be as visible but I’m sure they would still look gorgeous!

Obviously because I am an amazing person you can head over to the Pure Tatts website: www.puretatts.com and get 25% off with the code ‘abigail25’ Thank me later when you look incredible covered in tattoos!
